Building Blocks: Just the ticket for a relaxed night at the theatre

Judith Greenaway reviews Building Blocks in Reviews by Judith and Friends

When the program invites patrons to ‘sit back relax and enjoy watching’, Pymble Players means it. There’s a cheerful helpful staff, 75% capacity in the house, comfy seats and a friendly atmosphere so it’s a bit of a shock to have two workmen galumph onto the stage preshow and start a tidy-up. All part of the fun of Building Blocks by Bob Larbey, directed by Rob and Leah White. Just the ticket for a relaxed night at the theatre, this is a gentle comedy with really good performances and some emotional moments that make the relaxed crowd gasp out loud. Plus, a teeth-gritting familiarity if you have ever undertaken renovations!
